UAE FOREIGN MINISTER ON A GOODWILL
VISIT TO INDIA
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, The Minister for Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) arrived in New Delhi on June 26th late evening, on a day long visit, accompanied by a high level delegation comprising his senior officials and Business leaders.
During his stay( on June 27th ) the visiting Minister held talks with top Indian Leadership, including Vice President Dr. Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, his Indian counterpart Mr. SM Krishna and National Security Adviser Mr. Shiv Shankar Menon.
In his meetings the visiting UAE Minister discussed a host of bilateral, regional and international issues with extending full support to New Delhi's bid for a permanent membership of the UN Security Council.
During the delegation level talks with Indian External Affairs Minister Mr. SM Krishna, The visiting UAE Minister expressed his country's desire to invest more in infrastructure and energy sectors. In this context, UAE will appoint a joint Task Force with India to increase business from the country.
Mr. Krishna and Sheikh Nahyan also inked a Memoranda of Understandings (MoU) on political consultations, a move that is expected to build on their robust bilateral relations on international and regional affairs.
